Armies of Empire

Congratulations to Allan Converse on the forthcoming publication of his book, Armies of Empire.  

Allan is a military historian by trade, and his book reflects upon the experience of two divisions from different armies facing similar challenges in the Second World War: the 9th Australian Division and the British 50th (Northumbrian) Division.

We talked with Allan back in October about a very different project—The Dying Nude, his novel-in-progress set in 1950s New York.

It’s an engaging and suspenseful read and manages to pull off a genre-bending mash-up of historical fiction with hard boiled crime stories and lesbian pulp.
